Aleph Capital Partners is a new independent investment firm based in London, with a focus on capital investment in European companies. Our brief was to quickly plan, design and build a content-managed website for them, to replace a holding page that contained just their contact details. At launch the site was to introduce Aleph Capital Partners, their team and investment partners, and highlight the types of investments the company makes. It was essential for the site to work well on both smartphones and large computer screens.
We designed the website to look clean and modern, while also being consistent with the major elements of Aleph's print branding. In particular, we carried across the 1/3 screen image on left, and 2/3 content area on the right, page layout. We also installed a special web font on the site, to enable elegant on-brand headlines without relying on the fonts installed on visitors' machines.
We built the site with a ‘responsive’ layout, which means the layout changes according to the screen size and type of device used to view the site. For instance, viewed on an iPhone or Android smartphone it looks quite different to when viewed on a large computer screen (making it easier to use on smaller devices).
The site's CMS (content-management system) was built using the Drupal framework. Site editors can edit text, add new pages and upload images to the site from anywhere in the world, with image cropping provided within the CMS.
A 'responsive' Drupal theme was developed for the site, making the site's layout automatically adjust based to suit the screen size and the device on which it is viewed.
The site takes advantage of the latest Google Analytics reporting, which is configured to ignore people editing the website to give true visitor figures.
